As your MP I can often help with problems you may be experiencing with government departments and public bodies. I will also do my best to support you with problems you might be having with companies and other organisations.
I’ve given details of some of the problem areas people frequently contact me about, together with links to relevant websites. It's worth checking out the web site before contacting me as it may give you the information or help that you need. You should also make sure that if this is a council issue, that you contact your local councillor first. Click here for more details If they can't help you, I may be able to, but they should be your first point of contact. And if the problem concerns the Scottish Parliament or Scottish Executive, then your local Member of the Scottish Parliament may able to help you.
I am only allowed to take up issues for people who either live or work in the Edinburgh North & Leith constituency. If you're not sure if this is the case, you can check by postcode on the Parliament Website.
(For the UK Parliament at Westminster, Edinburgh North & Leith constituency now includes the Dean (including Comely Bank & the West End) & Craigleith (including Telford and part of Blackhall) areas.
One thing I can’t do is offer legal advice or representation. If you think you need this type of advice, click here for the website for the Law Society of Scotland (for solicitors) and here for Citizens’ Advice Scotland.
