Mark has been working with  local groups as part of a long-term campaign to set up a Leith museum.

Leith is one of the most historic communities in Scotland and yet it still does not have a permanent, full time, museum.

Leith deserves a museum which will appeal to both young and old, strengthen community links at a time of rapid social change, and highlight Leith's important role in the history of Scotland as a whole.

A museum could be a showcase of Leith's heritage, bringing together Leithers of many generations with those who have settled in Leith only recently.

It would cover dramatic events such as the return of Mary Queen Scots to Scottish soil in 1561 to claim the crown of Scotland and the attack on Leith by the American navy in 1779 during the American War of Independence.
