Mark has called for a full, independent inquiry into the death of Ian Tomlinson at the G20 demonstration.

Mark said:  
"A lot of constituents have contacted me about this, and having looked at the video of the incident, I can understand their concerns.  

"It seems clear from the video footage that he was walking away from police, and there was no justification for the way in which he was treated. It is a shocking picture. I appreciate that a video might only give part of the story, but at the end of the day a man died.  

"That is why there must be a full independent inquiry as soon as possible, and it must be independent of all the police forces that might have been involved in this issue."
