Stop the Council cuts!

You have probably heard the bad news recently about the massive programme of school closures and cuts in council services which has been announced by the LibDem/SNP coalition now in power in Edinburgh City Council. I'm supporting the campaign against the plans and you can find out more about my views on this issue, and further information on the campaign, here.

Councillor Ewan Aitken, Leade of the opposition Labour group on Edinburgh City Council has published a brieifng paper giving his group's views on the Council's financial position. It sets out an alternative budget which would avoid the cuts and closures being introduced by the ruling LibDem/SNP group on the City Council. The full paper is available here
