Mrs Ballantine has kindly lent the Society an album of wartime photographs which were taken by her husband, Lieutenant Commander Ballantine, RNVR, between 1940 and 1942, on the HMS Queen of Thanet, a minesweeper based at Granton.
The photographs are now on the Society’s website (all 163 of them) along with a short introduction and brief details of each of the vessels shown. You can see them by clicking here.
Also released recently are pages about Andrew Boath’s talk in January and a selection of photographs from his Adventures from Wardie Bay – there are links to this through the homepage.
Granton History Society hopes you will join them on Tuesday 23 February if you are in the area!
