On 17th April, a new report was launched detailing plans for a museum of Leith to be housed in the Custom House which is at present used as storage space by National Museums of Scotland.
The scope of the project is exciting. Aside from the museum, the building would also be used for music and theatre performances and include workshop and studio space for artists and a cafe-bar.
As the chairman of the campaign, Mark was closely involved in drawing up the plans. At the meeting he stressed again the vital need for a museum which would tell the story of Leith's past and also reflect the vibrancy of the area today. However, he stressed that there was still a lot of hard work ahead before the plans became a reality.
